I came across this expression while vacationing in Manzanillo, Mexico. As I gazed upon it, I drifted more and more into a state of tranquil relaxation. I often wonder if that was the intended reaction that the artist(s) who made it sought to elicit. Whether that was the intent or not, it certainly had a calming effect on me the first time I saw it and it still puts me in that state of mind whenever I look upon it.
